While February can be a month filled with candy hearts and glittery valentines, it can also encourage us to recommit to the things we love, and remind us of what self-love looks like.

Produced by Embiria Wellness, and facilitated by arts educator and author Sheniz JanmohamedHeart Maps: A Creative Self Care Workshop will guide you through gentle creative prompts to support you in discovering what fills your heart with joy. Settle in for an evening of playful creativity inside Lululemon Queen Street, overflowing with all the tools you need develop a creative-self care practice that works for best for you.

Map your creative hearts, build your own creative self-care toolkit, and take time to reflect and remind yourself of what matters most. Plus enjoy a delicious Welo Probiotic Bar when you attend!

What to bring: your favourite notebook and pen (optional, as paper and pens will be provided) and an open mind :)

Additional Materials provided:

  • Prompt cards for intention-setting in 2018
  • Keepsake boxes/tins for your self-care toolkits (with surprise materials and quotes housed inside)
  • Images and quotes to take with you for further creative explorations
  • A step-by-step creative ritual printable so you can develop your own creative self-care rituals

More about Sheniz:

Sheniz Janmohamed (MFA) is an author, artist educator and spoken word artist and occasional land artist. She is also the author of two collections of poetry: Bleeding Light (Mawenzi House, 2010) and Firesmoke (Mawenzi House, 2014). Sheniz has visited dozens of schools, organizations and libraries to teach, speak and perform. She graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Music's LTTA Mentor Artist-Educator Certification program, and was the 2015 recipient of the Lois Birkenshaw-Fleming Creative Teaching Scholarship. She is a firm believer in fostering community through collaboration, compassion and creativity. She is also the founder of Questions for Ancestors, a blog that features writers, artists and creatives across Turtle Island.
