Turn your imagination into a reality with this exciting and inclusive making event! In partnership with lululemonTO make, laugh, share and learn among other creatives of all skill levels.
Four talented Toronto artists are coming together to teach their own art and design techniques:
Fabric Marbling | Sabine Spare
Marbling is an ancient surface design technique involving dropping different coloured pigments onto a thickened liquid surface, manipulating the pattern with tools and then taking a print of the resulting design onto a piece of fabric. Participants will go home with a one-of a kind scarf.
Polaroid Still Life Photography | Alison Postma
Still Life Photography will cover how to use colour, shape and texture to create visually interesting compositions. The fundamentals of styling can be applied in many other art forms and will be documented using an instant photo that participants can digitize or frame.
Contemporary Collage | Iris Karuna
Collage required taking photographic imagery from different sources and combining them in a way that tells a whole new visual narrative. Participants will learn about different cutting, ripping and attachment techniques and will leave with their own works of art.
Macrame Wall Hangings | Lisa Terry
Macrame is a craft technique that involves knotting cord in patterns to make decorative and functional textile art. Participants will get to learn the fundamental knots and apply them to create their very own wall hanging.
Get a taste of each of these unique techniques and go home with four one-of-a-kind art pieces, in addition to a foundational knowledge of each process.
